There are more than a few step wells in Rajasthan and I think this is one of the best. What! No banisters? A health and safety nightmare!
The famous stepwell just outside Jaipur is Panna Meena ka Kund, located near Amber Fort in the village of Amer. Built in the 16th century, it features symmetrical criss-cross staircases and a square design typical of Rajput architecture. It once served as a community water source and a gathering place, and today it’s a popular spot for photography.
