Having arrived at Varanasi and settled in at the Homestay, we went on a guided tour that took in dusk and early evening. From a tourist point of view, it’s all going off on the banks of The Ganges where there are many temples and a whole range of religious ceremonies going on simultaneously. You can’t move for people but it’s amazing. So much religion in one place.
