We were in the queue at 5.30am for the dawn slot. Doors opened at 6.00am. If you are thinking of coming, you now need to buy a prepaid ticket and there’s a long list of stuff you can’t bring in. However, everything went smoothly. Ironically you might be the first one in but it’s a bit dark for photos.
If I was being pedantic, there was scaffolding on the roof and most of the ponds were empty. And with empty ponds then no fountains. And of course you are waiting for the sun to fight its way through the smog. And, surprisingly, only 10 degrees C. But still a marvel.
