Jaipur – Day 2 – The Amber Palace

This is a few km out of the city and is one of the highlights so far.

Amber Palace (or Amer Fort) is a magnificent hilltop fort just outside Jaipur, built in the 16th century by Raja Man Singh I. Made of red sandstone and marble, it blends Mughal and Rajput architecture. Inside are ornate halls, mirrored ceilings, frescoed walls, courtyards, gardens, and stunning views of Maota Lake. The Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace) is its most famous feature.
