The journey back to Jaipur was largely uneventful notwithstanding the driver hitting a bike in the first 10 seconds as he backed out of his parking space. There were two things on the agenda for day 1 in Jaipur. The first was The City Palace.
The City Palace in Jaipur, built in the early 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, is a stunning blend of Rajput, Mughal, and European architecture. It served as the royal residence and still houses the Jaipur royal family. The complex includes grand courtyards, gardens, and museums displaying royal costumes, weapons, and art. Highlights include the Peacock Gate, Chandra Mahal, and Mubarak Mahal.
